Ireland was a small independent nation for many years before Scotland made contact with him and became his older brother, St. Patrick came to his island around 432 AC and brought a new way of life and a lot of happiness which lasted for a long time. Soon after Scotland and St. Patrick left Ireland was attacked by Greenland, Iceland, and Denmark (vikings), they fought for many years but ended up mixing their cultures and becoming very similar. Eventually Ireland fought off the Vikings and gained peace again for a time, then England invaded. He fought against him for many years before England finally took over, England established The Statues of Kilkenny in 1388 which caused the Irish people to lose practically all of their rights and set the English parliament as the main government of Ireland. under these statues the Irish were treated like little more than slaves and this is what led to many years of rebellions and civil wars. The worst of all of these conflicts was in 1649 when Oliver Cromwell invaded and massacred thousands of Irish people, seizing their lands and sending those he captured to work on plantations in the Caribbean as slaves. Most of the persecution afterwards was of the Irish-Catholics which was the majority of the Irish people. The Irish Potato Famine occurred in 1845 and lasted for four years, during this time the Irish population dropped by nearly three million from starvation, disease, and immigration, this is one of his worst periods in history and it has left deep scars in Ireland's mind. Ireland finally won his freedom in 1921 but he wasn't made a free country again until 1922 and he lost Northern Ireland in the process. He was officially called the Republic of Ireland in 1949 and establized his own system of democracy. He always wear a cross, has scars on his chest, freckles on his face, and curly hair. He has a short temper, and a large amount of family values. His brothers are in order of age: Scotland, Wales, England, and Northern Ireland. At one point he was allied with France and Spain but it was mostly over religion, Germany tried to gain his support in WWII and he has purchased weapons from him in the past and present, he has also helped Mexico in the past.

((I was just hit with an idea for a RP- Maybe you've heard of the game "Subnautica"? It's a survival game that takes place on a distant planet mostly covered by water. The whole idea is that the main character is the sole survivor of a space-ship crash, and they have to escape this planet. But I was thinking, what instead of one survivor, it's two-))
